Are the park entry fees included in Cape Point tours?
Not on the group tours. On every group day tour on this site, the SANParks conservation fees for the Cape of Good Hope section and for Boulders Beach are paid separately at the gates. The one exception is the e-bike tour, which includes the Cape Point entry fee (Boulders Beach is not listed). The gates are cashless, so bring a bank card.
How much is the entrance fee for Cape Point and Boulders Beach?
For international visitors, the Cape of Good Hope section (which includes Cape Point) costs R515 per adult and R250 per child, and Boulders Beach costs R245 per adult and R120 per child. These are the SANParks conservation fees valid from 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2026. SANParks adjusts its fees every year on 1 November; the new rates had not been confirmed when this page was last checked.
How long is a Cape Point day tour?
Most full-day group tours are listed at 10 hours; the Cape Archives peninsula tour runs 9 hours and the double-decker bus tour 8 hours. The private tour runs about 8 hours, the e-bike tour 7 hours and the half-day tour 5 hours.
Is hotel pickup included?
Pickup is part of the product title on the Gray Line and Baz Bus day tours and on the Gray Line Table Mountain combination. The double-decker bus tour does not pick up at hotels — you board at set City Sightseeing stops. For the other tours, check the pickup area and times on the product page before you book.
Do the tours drive over Chapman’s Peak?
The Chapman’s Peak Drive toll is included on the Cape Archives peninsula tour, the Excitement Travel and Tours seals-and-penguins day and its Table Mountain combination. The road can close at short notice because of wind, rain or rockfall — a rockfall on 24 April 2026 led to closures — and tours then take another road down the peninsula.
Half day or full day?
The half-day tour fits Cape Point and Boulders Beach into 5 hours, which leaves the afternoon free but keeps every stop short, including the time with the penguins. A full day gives the peninsula room to breathe. If Boulders Beach is the reason you are going, check the time there in the itinerary before you book.
Can I combine Table Mountain and Cape Point in one day?
Yes — the Table Mountain combination tours add the mountain to the peninsula day in about 10 hours. The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway ticket is not included on those tours, and the cableway closes in strong wind. Will I see penguins and baboons?
Boulders Beach is home to a colony of African penguins, and chacma baboons live around Cape Point. They are wild animals, so no tour can promise a sighting. Around the baboons, keep food out of sight and do not feed them.
What should I bring?
A bank card for the cashless park gates, a windproof layer and sun protection. In summer the south-easterly Cape Doctor wind can make Cape Point cold and blustery even when Cape Town is hot. December and January are the busiest months on the peninsula.

No. Visit Cape Point is an independent guide that compares the bookable day tours. The Cape of Good Hope section and Boulders Beach are managed by South African National Parks (SANParks); official visitor information is published at sanparks.org and capepoint.co.za.
