visitcapepoint.com is an independent guide to the day tours that run from Cape Town to Cape Point, the Cape of Good Hope and the penguins at Boulders Beach. This page explains who runs it, how it is financed, where the information comes from — and what it is not.
Who is behind this site
visitcapepoint.com is run by Patrick Kühne, an independent travel publisher based in Markkleeberg near Leipzig, Germany. He builds and maintains a small portfolio of guides to attraction tickets and day tours — including tablemountainhikes.com, hoponcapetown.com and capetown-helicopter.com for Cape Town. There is no agency and no rotating editorial team behind this site: the pages are researched, written and kept up to date by one person — the same one who answers the e-mails.
What this site does
The Cape Point day tours on booking platforms look alike at first glance, and the product names rarely show what actually separates them: whether hotel pickup is included, which vehicle you travel in, whether the route runs over Chapman’s Peak, how long the day lasts — and above all which park entry fees you still pay at the gates. We lay those facts out side by side for every tour, add the current SANParks entry fees with their validity date, and show live tour prices so the choice can be made in one place. We are not a booking agent: every reservation happens on GetYourGuide.
How we earn money
When you book through one of our links, GetYourGuide pays us a commission. Your price stays exactly the same: the commission comes out of the platform’s margin, not your pocket. No contract obliges us to favour a particular tour, and our comparisons are ordered by what suits the trip, not by what pays us best.
Where our information comes from
Tour prices, ratings and review counts are pulled from GetYourGuide’s live API and refreshed automatically several times a day. Inclusions, durations, pickup arrangements and cancellation terms come from the operators’ product pages and were last checked tour by tour on 29 September 2026. Park entry fees are the published SANParks conservation fees, shown with the period they apply to. Found something out of date? Write to us and we will correct it.
What we are not
This is not the official Cape Point website. We are not connected to South African National Parks (SANParks), which manages the Cape of Good Hope section of Table Mountain National Park and Boulders Beach, nor to the Cape Point Partnership, and we do not operate any tours. For binding information — opening hours, gate fees, road closures — the official channels at sanparks.org and capepoint.co.za take precedence; for your booking, the terms on the product page apply.
